Worship

Our attitude and actions are an outward and visible response to who God is and what He has done.

Worship

The following activities are tools you and your family can use to connect and grow with one another and with God.

1

What is Worship?

Ask:

What do you think happens when we just think about doing something, instead of actually doing it?

Watch:
Do:
  • Play a game of follow the leader. Make it as crazy as possible with lots of climbing over things, ducking under tables, etc. Be sure to emphasize that everyone should follow the leader as exactly as they can. Play enough rounds so that everyone has a chance to be the leader.

  • Afterward, huddle up and talk about how it went. What made it tricky to follow the leader’s steps? Was there ever a time when you felt like not following the leader, and just doing something else?

  • When we follow God, and understand who He is and what He’s done, there are actions we should take. Read through the story in Isaiah 6:1-8 again, and ask what everyone’s response might have been if they were in Isaiah’s place. Finally, pray together and tell God how incredible He is, and thank Him for all He has done for us.

What Does Worship Look Like?

Ask:

What is you favorite song to sing along with?

Watch:
Do:
  • Go to the PCC YouTube channel, choose one (or all) of the sign language videos and then learn the sign language for that worship song. See if you can all memorize the sign language so that you don’t have to watch the video as you sing along. Pay close attention to how the signs explain the words that are in the songs.

  • Afterwards, or even as you work on the songs, go around and ask each other, how does singing and using sign language help us show God that He’s awesome? What are some other ways that you can worship together as a family? Is there anything you think should change in how you do life as a family in order to worship God better?

  • Finally, pray together and thank God for who He is, and for what He’s done for us. Pray that He will help you as a family find new ways to show Him worship.
